On 2th march, Aviation Week the well known american magazine resurected rumors about Aurora spyplane. According to them, the plane was a two-stage-to-orbit. First stage was a kind of “modern” XB-70 Walkyrie and the second stage a kind of ehanced X-33 with
– Aerospike engines
– Ultra light carbons fiber structure
– A revolutionnary fuel (not kerosen or hydrogen) consisting of “Boron-based fuel which look like toothpaste” or something like that.
The plane was name blackstar or OXV-3 (not sure of that).
I have just red “Air&Cosmos” this week and the magazine really slaughter Avition-Week article, saying that its not clear (too many questions, few answers, no photos of the beast).
So what do you think about that ? I thought it could make a good thread here…
