During the Falklands war a Russian ship with lots of aerials (allegedly) was sat at the approach to the runway at Accension. Because it was in international waters it could not be forced away. Allegedlly two 29 Sqd Phantoms took off at dusk and circled with lights off, and did a couple of low level passes over the ship, supersonic. Needless to say the ship left but was noticed that there was not a window left intact and some suffered with ear problems.
