Hi,
A friend of mine has just unearthed some photographs of his dear departed grandfather who was in the RAF in wartime. He said there was images of him in front of “A Bomber” with the serial number of ME544, which apparently he crewed. Any ideas of what type it was and it history and eventual fate??
Cheers,
C6

According to UK serials;
ME517 to ME551 Lancaster
Armed with that, a quick Googling gives us http://freespace.virgin.net/onefivethree.squadron/
Also note Appendix B7.
