what aircraft am I flying on?!

My Airtours flight for 17th March to Sangster Intl (Montego Bay). Airtours have 5 A330s and 4 DC-10s. Any idea which it will be? I was kind of hoping it will be the A330. Can someone help me?!

RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!

Yeah, I done that too. I went from down here in Reading to Italy. It was supposed to take 22 hours by coach/eurotunnel and ended up taking 27 hours coz the drivers got lost along the way. makes me wonder how companies like Shearings are still in business! Why on earth do people want to go by coach when they can get there in a tenth of the time by air? And there really is not much difference in price between a Shearings coach holiday and a package holiday.

oh no… not a school trip!! I will never do that again. It was hell. Our teacher checked us all in and we were sat in alphabetical order. There were only 26 boys on the trip aged between 16 and a half and 18 so we are more than capable of checking ourselves in. I didn’t get a window seat either way and was sat next to two people I didn’t even know…!! argh!

RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!

Depends where u r flying from.If u r going from MAN we r using the DC10-30,A330-200 And A330-300 on that route at the moment. If its from LGW it will be the A330-300.All the B767-300 r down in HAJ doing the pilgrim flights.
Cheers.

RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!

Brilliant, thanks for your help everyone. I’ll just hope it is an A330!

By the way, anyone seen the site where someone has scanned in their sick bag collections?! And the really bad thing is that he actually puts a copyright on them with hi name alongside it! I had to email him and tell him that the airlines ‘could’ take legal action but I very much doubt they’d waste their time!

RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!

The DC-10’s used on the US routes were the -30 srs, I was talking about the -10srs not having the range – AIH have (or did have) the -10 srs in their fleet. An easy way to ID a DC-10-10 is due to the fac t that they don’t have the main centre landing gear bogey, which is a feature of the 30 srs.

The AIH A330-200’s have PTV’s on all seats too, which is a bonus.

RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!

Yeah A330 – but i believe the DC-10s have been used on US lights as backup – i beleive they have the range!

RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!

Yes, the DC-10s are mainly used on high density short/medium haul routes(Spain/Greece etc…) I’ve seen them at KOS, Palma and Rhodes.

The Transatlantic routes are flown mainly by the A332s which have gradually taken over from the 767s.

Have a good trip

RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!

You’ll be on one of their A330-200 aircraft. The DC-10’s are really now only used as back-up aircraft, and the DC-10 10srs in their fleet won’t have the range anyway.
