phew !
As usual, just about to turn in for the night and decide to flick through the channels on the goggle box to see whats on…….its 23.25 local time and I’ve just finished watching the war film about the Tuskegee Airmen on one of the local Cypriot channels (PIKDYO…Picture Two, but my keyboard doesnt have Cypriot characters on it hence the crappy spelling).
Oh, and I’ve had a few beers while watching it….actually four so apologoes for any spelling mistooks !
Apart from the usual ‘poetic license’ mistakes in the film, its actually quite a good vehicle for numerous Mustang and Stearman flyby’s.
Got a question tho’….during their training when when the guys where under instruction in the Stearmans (PT17’s before someone corrects me ?), the instructors where always shown as sitting in the front seat….I thought the instructors sat in the back !. Is this correct ?
And another question for you guys…..whats that fairly recent WW2 film…something like Deep Blue or whatever ?. I’m assuming (never ever assume cos it makes an ASS out of U and Me !). I havent seen it yet and wondered if its out on DVD yet.
And finally, anyone fancy a dogfight this Friday evening ?. Got to be then because my pc will be packed up ready for shipping back to UK next week and I’m gonna get bored (havent had a decent scrap in months !). To the usual supsects, around game 50 with the usual passowrd…..to those who want to join in….ask on this this thread for more details.
And you wont get a chance to try and get on my six until at least mid December !

Geoff.
Thanks for the info. Will have to look out for it when I move back in 3 weeks time

These aircraft you generally solo from the rear seat, so that is where the student sits…

If you’ve seen ‘Reach for the Sky’ you might notice that this was exactly the same – the instructor was up front all the times Kenneth More was in an Avro 504K.
