An interesting extract from www.classicflight.com , which explains the reason for ‘PRS ‘s more modern ETPS livery…
Air Atlantique acquired her and re-registered her to the original G-APRS and are very proud to have what is now the only flying example in the Northern Hemisphere. She is currently painted in the colours of the Empire Test Pilots School at Boscombe Down for whom she served in her Airforce career. She continues to be used from time to time for the current test pilot courses, as it is unlikely that a candidate has experienced the unique flight characteristics of such an aeroplane.
PS She will be flying into Legends both days, although as far as bookings go I believe she is fully booked with a private party on the Saturday, see the above website for details. It would be nice if a parking spot could be found for her on the ‘public’ side, so people can get a closer look during the flightline walk. Having said that she may be busy in the day with a Baginton-Silverstone shuttle service- it seems they have decided to have a rather large race there after all!

A nice image from the AACF archives, of her previous incarnation…
And an even earlier incarnation, in her true ETPS colours.

Hi Will, thanks for posting the pic ,she looks quite smart in the house colours doesn’t she!I’m sure she will be at legends ,as everybody knows youv’e got to arrive in style,if a little sedately!
By the way I saw the draft of the brochure very smart,it gets the message across doesn’t it,lets hope it helps to drum up some business!

PS. As you can see Primrose is sulking as nobody here has done the gentlemanly thing and asked if she will be at legends 😉

..a long way…
..bearing in mid Twin Pins like to go everywhere via the scenic route, Primrose has never been known to go anywhere ‘as the crow flies’ 😉
It’s about time ‘graphics department’ here stopped messing around with university projects and got over to Baginton and got his hands dirty too 😮

Ps ,we’ve got to get the inflight catering sorted for the trip to Prestwick for Primrose’s birthday party(if we get invited!),its a long way in a Twin Pin without something to suck!
Cheers James as I said on another thread I only wish i’d got my hands dirty earlier!

Ah Tweed, there is a CD on its way to Aus. If you leave now you just might beat it there.

Thanks for both the pic and the work Alan. Unlike many, at least you are putting your vintage aviation screwdriver to use, rather than telling others how it should be. Cheers!

Mmmm I am partial to Werthers so that will be good!
Well done motf i’ll have to thinnk about my background a bit more next time, but I really took the photo just to remind myself what it looked like when all the trim was out and to show all the windows i’d unscrewed so that we can stop some leaks, theres a lot of screws in them windows.

What ‘insider knowledge’ I have suggests we are seeing an upgrade to the in flight catering facillities….
…which may well end up with a little cupboard to put the Werther’s Originals in.

Could have been a Shorts Garage but they arent tail draggers. So a bit of lateral linking and voila!!
By: JDK - 15th January 2005 at 02:41
MOTF Clever? Suppose. But then, there’s not many (airworthy, hysteric) square aircraft with a Rapide seen through the window.

We will just have to assume he is a man of unquestionable taste…

Re devon pics,no unfortunately in my haste to get home for the school run I forgot doh!
Ps how did Manonthefence guess so quick, insiderknowledge or was it that easy?
By: Will J - 14th January 2005 at 22:49
🙂
No worries, I’m not about to knock an establishment that caters so generously for my peversion for coronation chicken, or my desire to eat ‘alfresco’ next to a Shackleton….
PS Any pics of the Devon with its new roundels 😉
