For lunch its: a scotch egg (left) 3 packs of crisps, 2ltr’s of Pepsi, and baguette sarnies of: wholegrain mustard, ham, brie and lettuce, Onion, Double Gloucester and chutney, Ham, Double Gloucester, pickle and tomato. Add some café crème cigars, and I’m sorted.
Now that’s done, its time for the stepladder, windbreak, receiver, notepad (18 spare pens and pencils) camera, film, camera, flashcard, batterys, sun hat, binoculars and crazed glint.
(OK, just the medium format and digital camera).

Yes he’s still alive. Basically on take-off David went a bit to the right and managed to hit a parked grass roller (not a good start to his 1st scramble). Sheward saw him disapear in smoke and flames and thought he’d bought it, but 10 mins later David appeared on foot with nothing more than a cut finger!!

A story i’d like to hear Andy. Is he still alive? Can you get hime to get it all down on paper / tape? These buggers are mostly too modest! You don’t have to recah WingCo to write!

Sorry Snapper, had 2 kids and 2 parents to look after and lost track of time!! Nice to meet Ronnie Sheward though, my Great Uncles 1st flight with 137 Sqn had Sheward as his leader (unfortunately Uncle disapeared in smoke and flame on take off but thats another story!!).

Total unpreparedness here.
Took nothing. Tesco closed so no donuts.
Bought Tuna baguette and bottle of Coke for 5.80p. For heavens sake I think I’d rather have starved.
Did finally meet up with Ashley though, so well worth the trip.

Manonthefence, tea can only stew if the the tea leaves/tea bags are still in it. You wouldn’t really put them in a flask, would you?
Just drinking a cup of tea made just over 4 hours ago. Took the teabags out of the pot 10 minutes later. 1 minute in the microwave and it’s still fine. Always know when it’s been too long, it goes grey!
Weather forecast was gibberish so we went to Breighton. Unfortunately, ferocious crosswind so not a lot of flying going on.
Buchon looks to be coming on quite nicely.
Went to Aeroventure on the way back. Far too many eggbeaters. Glad to see out of 4 complete assembled aeroplanes inside, 3 were proper ones. Vampire, Dove and Chipmunk.

Where were you all then? I waited an hour, then went and bumped into sparky. My Brie went runny though, so I don’t mind!

eeeeeeuuuuggghhhh stewed tea.
By: dhfan - 4th May 2003 at 05:52
The forecast around here’s grim so I don’t think I’m going anywhere.
Manonthefence, make the tea before you go and put it in the flask, just don’t put the milk in. We always do that and it’s fine. We also take backup picnic stove(s) as well for making more tea when gigantic flask runs out.
In the absence of decent beer, I drink lots of tea!

Around 7pm I will be taking vast amounts of Adnams, can’t make Duxford though, have to spend some time with the Boss as I deserted her today to go Mustang hunting, where I shall also be on Monday

Ok then
Lunch is a Pasty, two sausage rolls and a few token bits of fruit. With a big flask of hot water to make tea.
Camera will be the trusty D60 with the 100-400IS and a 28-80 with a 75-300 as backup. 2 512MB flash cards and a spare set of batteries.
Most important are my ear plugs, because even though I am at Dixford and she is a Abingdon, I just cant risk being able to hear her band playing 😀
Weather looks good, so bring it on.
