British Airways have announced they are cutting flights on September 11th and I believe so have American Airlines and all the US airlines. On the news it said that the US TV stations will become like the BBC for the day because they will not show any adverts as this might offend people.
What are you going to be doing? Do you plan to mark the day or are you going to fly in memory or for business/lesiure?
Does anyone here have plans to fly on September 11th? It seems not many people do as easyjets prices on routes for September 11th are still very low as no-one has booked and I would say itis probably the same with Ryan Air and Go and all other airlines.
It is a school day for me as we have so far not been told of a stoppage and are school are so nasty they give us a minutes silence and thats it. The thought proably never is occuring to them that that day last year affected the world but oh no they will give us 1 minute silence and not even a special assembly! Just have to wait until August 29th to see!
I remember Sep 11th becuase my birthday is the next day. My friend is unlucky as her birthday is September 11th!

It was not treated so ‘lightly’ in the U.S., Dan. I had my TV on pretty much all day in my classroom. Everybody was well aware of what was going on, and rather shocked. It was just before I went to work that day that it happened, early in the morning. I shall be doing the same thing again this year, working, with my brand new, larger, wall-mounted TV this time around, however, not my little one from home brought in.

I shall be on the last day of my holiday in Belgium, I fly home on the 12th with VLM. Last year when the event happened I was also on holiday in Belgium and flew home on the 13th, it was horrid in Brussels airport with all the US and Canada flights cancelled.

I just work in a warehouse picking and packing at the mo. Only way we heard of it was because we have the radio on, otherwise we wouldn’t have a clue.
It surprised me how people reacted, I don’t think they relised the scale of it. Having been on top of them two years earlier it was probably more apparent to me exactly what it meant for these two huge towers to callapse and the destruction it would cause.
Probably the same about your school.

No plans really from normal.
I know what you mean about your school, at work last year we were all obviously taliking about it, all the info we had was the radio, but we kept being told to shut up and wasn’t able to say anything. Don’t know if they realised how big it was but it was very insensitive.

I’m probably flying, not had my rosta yet for 9/11 but I’m sure I will be. I want to as I think it will be quite an emotional day, remembering those events of last year I would like to be onboard and with my colleagues.
