What became of the Imperial Aviation aircraft

I understand that Imperial Aviation is no more. Does anyone know the fate of it’s aircraft? I heard that the Lincoln was sold to Australia, was this correct? Any information would be appreciated.

TEXANTOMCAT,

As of today the 2nd Feb, at least 2 aircraft from the collection remain unsold, although one will probably sell in the near future, so the final fate of these aircraft is still open to debate and worthy of discussion.

Calm down will you MDF I and my friend were only joking, my primitive attempt at humour did not suggest this wasnt ‘worthy of discussion’…jeez…

The Belgian attempt to get a Buccaneer to Belgium was by a private individual who purchased the aircraft without reallly looking into the logistics of moving it!
The reason that it was scrapped eventually was because the RAF’s patience ran out and they imposed a prohibitive parking charge per day on her.
A sad end to her but I believe her engines were also salvaged .

… sound at all familiar?

B-25 NL9494Z

There should be a link appearing here soon to some pictures I took of the B25 in the yard. It was in sections amoungst lots of other bits of aircraft so was difficult to photograph.

Issue 18 of Warbirds Worldwide has an article about the five B25’s used in the film ‘Hanover Street’, this aircraft was one of them.

The article says ‘After a brief period of open storage at Blackbushe, it was flown to Coventry in September 1985, being retained by Jeff Hawke. It languished in a hanger there for two years, then went to auction in October 1987, but was withdrawn from sale, so remains at Coverntry.’ September 1991

I personally think any aircraft from WW2 is worth perserving.

Both Vampires were in much the same condition. The one Andrew bought was slightly more complete, but apart from that, they were both quite the most complete Vampires I have seen – with all the engines and systems still connected. The other one would still be a good buy for someone, but make sure it can be kept undercover.

The B25 as suggested above was in real s**t order. The Belgian guys must REALLY want a B25! Best of luck!

I believe the two Piston Provosts are with Barry Parkhouse.

I/We/Beech boys from bruntingthorpe went to see it at the back end of last year…..chap wanted £10,000 for it…………spar is lets say “seen better days”…..exfoliating corrosion in the centre section mainspar…wing joints destroyed…..only 1 engine frame….all steel parts VERY rusty

completely gutted…..covered in green slime…..tucked into a yard about 10 miles from sandtoft…..big dogs guarding the place…..it is going to be a real “B” to shift it out of there.

It will cost a fortune to just get it to a static condition…..it really ain’t worth it…..it is about £9,999.99 too expensive IMO….i have pics if anyone is interested. BAHA should not waste their money….It is too late to save this one i am afraid.

BAHA site indicated that the B-25 had been purchased and that contributions and/or help from haulage company were requested.
On the other hand, they are still collecting money, maybe for future works after removal.
There is a website dedicated to the B-25 but when last visited last weel, nothing was communicated yet.

I have bought one of the Vampires. I would be interested to know what happened to the other one. Most of the aircraft, including the B25 had been moved to a nearby yard.
