Hi,
My 70D whilst purchased for stills has video capability and can do HD the hype says, no it cant !
unable to:-
film HD 1920x25fps gives jitters on motion left to right or bottom to top, 1280 x 50 is the option to use.
Holding it out front to view screen loses the elbow to chest solid stable mount used to film non shaky videos for 30 yrs. Terrible shaky results.
Inability to see properly the screen if sun behind you.
No lever type wide-tele zoom , manual zooming a lens doesnt deliver decent video practice !
Goes out of focus despite aircraft in middle of screen.
Changing shutter speed requires ending the video !
Records the motor of my stills lens.
Lens 18-200 not giving the zoom I had with camcorder
Give me a camcorder with eye piece, manual control over shutter speed, aperture and gain and powerful optical zoom, and a mic hotshoe anyday, oh…and stills ability, so which one ?
…or should I consider a camera shaped one , if it avoids all of the above ‘cons’ , maybe so. Viewfinder use crucial.
So recommendations please. To extract good stills from results also welcome.
(I miss my Panansonic NV-MX8 which had all this though viewfinder was very low res and grainy by modern standards, its diopter adjustment though was essential)
