What Charges would UK Police/Law file if you………..

The scenario is this….

You are in a Bank and you carry out your transactions….you have been waiting in the queue for 5-10 mins while at the same time being filmed by the numerous cameras in the branch, you are an upstanding citizen and would not do anything illegal knowingley.

You have finished your transactions and on the way out you see in the corner in the seating area a black bag full of notes ranging from £15-25,000…….If you take it and you are apprehended later on during the day/week

1. What do you say?
2. Will any charges be filed??

plz put a xmas family rift right:)

Don’t know – but this is the type of reply you’ll get until the lawyers return from spending Christmas in the Bahamas or where ever…
Imagine that it would be theft or something similar – like it would if you picked something up from those shops which have goods on display on the wrong side of the check-outs. The black bag is not yours, the property from which you removed it was not yours, the insurence company covering the building got no money from you so will track you down with murderous robots rather than pay out for its loss, and so on. Just because it was there, unattended, it was not yours to remove.
Or are you arguing that it was bank robbery?

Well, if it’s a Sunday, you may be in trouble for not practicing archery on the green under instruction of the clergy. If you’re a bloke of course.

If you should be in another town, perhaps violating parole.

Driving without insurance and not having a valid road fund licence.

Perhaps carrying an offensive weapon, or concealed weapon.

Assault, ABH, GBH, Impersonating a police officer, Speeding, slander, libel, practicing medicine without a licence.

If they want you, they’ll have you. Rest assured.

Personally though, i think theft would be the most likely one – after all, it isn’t yours, and you took it on camera.

My Halifax branch has a great seating area and water dispenser for customer use. They also provide newspapers for people to read.

Seating area? Not a British bank then – they try to remind you who has the money and who is asking to borrow some! Just surprised there isn’t a line on the ground in front of the desks and a sign say ‘Kneel, supplicant!’ before you…
