Bit of fun for all on this Tuesday morning 🙂
Take your initials (need 3 really), add them to G-A (most used range I reckon) then see what aircraft that was/is!
Mine would be G-AJPH which turns out to have been the experimental nene powered Vickers Viking and I quote “the world’s first entirely jet powered airliner.” – pretty tickled by that 🙂
Over to you guys…….

Since I don’t have a middle name, my first option was G-AADC – de-registered Gipsy Moth.
I tried again with G-ADAZ – an Airspeed Envoy Mk1.
But, if I tweak the first two letters a little more to G-ACDC (mine and my mum’s initials) – Tiger Moth!

Auster A5B Autocar G-AMNB. CofA expired in 1954, when I was in the minus years.
Hmm

Percival Proctor
I am a Percival Proctor 1 G-AJLS. Wish I was called Edward Xavier Ximenes though; not only is it a very cool name, but you get my next favourite Airspeed model after me; G-AEXX The King’s Airspeed Envoy. Both my parents G-AJAS & ‘JPS (Father has 2 middle names), and G-ASLS turn out to be Austers.

Aye,far better than being full of hot air isn’t it?:D

G-AJWJ
Airspeed AS40 Oxford I (de-registered)
following out of curiosity…
G-BJWJ – Cameron V-65 balloon
G-CJWJ – Schleicher AS-K 13
On my ‘home’ register,
CF-JWJ makes me a Cessna 182B
CG-JWJ – S-55A Raven (yet another balloon)
I think I’ll stick with the Oxbox…

Now this is getting really interesting! As I do not have a middle name, I went for my airline´s three lettercode, and got the DC-7C.
If I use my true two initials with the G-AA– code, as G-AASV, an understandibly deregistered Blackburn Mk. IV Bluebird. Very fitting, as I, at one time, was contemplating a replica Bluebird construction. It never got off the drawing board, so to spead:eek:
My wive does, indeed, have a true three letter code. In the G-A series, that would make her G-ALGJ, which is a Miles M14A Hawk Trainer 3:eek::eek: In other words, I´m married to a Miles Magister:eek::eek::eek: How creepy is that given my interest in all things MMMMMiles:D:D

G-ASDB a Druine D.31 Turbulent.
A new aircraft type I had not seen before, should have looked
in the mirror:)

Hm. G-ARMS was apparently a Tiger Moth.

G-EADM AVRO 504K
G-AADM AVRO 10 (Licenced built Fokker Tri Motor)
Now as I had a Grandfather who worked for A V Roe from 1914 to 1956 and would have been a pattern maker at the time of the two aircrafts manufacture, there must have been parts on both that he would have had a hand in making. 🙂

Heaven forbid! I was talking about photos of the aircraft rather than the family members. The very idea of a Key Publishing Forum equivalent of ‘Reader’s Wives’ (and other family members) sends shivers down my spine!
:D:D Sorry I misunderstood your meaning.:)

Wouldn’t it be nice if those subscribed or subscribing to this thread searched their photo collections and posted (better than a hyperlink) an image of the aircraft which they are or which are those who have posted already. Then those concerned can see if there is any similarity between them and the image of the aircraft which they are! Utilising this criteria I wish that my initials were FOK – but I doubt that I was ever as sleek as the Heston Type 5 Racer – and I pity the person whose initials are BHQ – but maybe there’s no-one as ugly as the Salmon Tandem Monoplane. As it is, it appears that I’m a Tiger Moth. Anyone got an image of G-AMSD or F-OAMC (as I became in 1952)? Curiously it appears that I suffered a pre-natal deregistration and exportation to one of the french colonies!
Couldn’t resist rising to the bait and posting a self portrait piccie of my alter ego.
Also one for RAF Millom, one for Anark and one for Speedy, although the latter’s does not look like that now, being in silver RAF colours with the Tiger Club.
Wicked Willip :diablo:

I wonder if there is a ‘Merican search engine???
I am, fittingly, a C-47 Dakota, the wife is a DH84 Dragon (no comment) :dev2: and our freshly minted little one is a BA Swallow or a X’Air microlight 😎

Great idea. G-AJAH, Auster Autocrat.
This is was I had in mind when I suggested searching through your photo albums and then posting images of the aircraft that Forum members are. Mr Creosote, here’s your alter ego!

Avion Ancien, I agree that it would be a good idea to trawl through the family albums and post some photos but I fear we would have to move this thread to GD then.
Heaven forbid! I was talking about photos of the aircraft rather than the family members. The very idea of a Key Publishing Forum equivalent of ‘Reader’s Wives’ (and other family members) sends shivers down my spine!

[QUOTE +bms44 Trouble and strife…G-AEME(S) HM14 POU-Du-CIEL (Flying Flea) and Boy, did they ever get that wrong!!!
[QUOTE=mike currill;1251792]Don’t let your other half read that:)
Mike, if I drop the third one of my wife’s three forenames, leading to G-AEMS we get a BA SWALLOW…and I’m in too much trouble already, so let’s not go there…
I’ll get me coat…..fed up with this game…
Oh to be a Bristol Brabazon 😮
