What did I see going into Mildenhall – 14th 23:45pm

Was outside the house at around 23:45ish on Friday 14th and was watching some landing lights on an aircraft. Thing is I have never seen so many huge bright lights on one aircraft putting beams out in all directions, even the red & a huge white flashing light was bouncing off high level cloud. It was at least 5-6 miles away but it was too dark to see the airframe, but I could hear the deep whine of big jet engines. I was just wondering if anybody could shed some light on this (pardon the pun) as to what it was. Might sound funny, but it sounded like it was struggling to turn onto the approach to Mildenhall. Was looking north from Rougham area.
