What did you do over the Bank Holiday ?

Not that it was one in Glasgow, but what did you do with your weekend?

I went to see the Red Hot Chillii Peppers, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and PJ Harvey at Glasgow Green in blistering hot weather !

Sunday 24th – Flew on a Tu134 from Moscow to Ekaterinburg for a day visit

Charley,

The weather is great, very humid though. You get used to it, well sort of. I haven’t worn a pair of trousers for over 4 months, unless I go to work. Honkers really is a fantastic place.:D

Bank Holiday weekend….

Mix of good and bad….

Good:D went to a fantastic ‘boat party’ near Soham/Upware on Saturday night/Sunday morning, over-indulged with the ‘fire water’ and regretted it later.
Got woken at about 08-30 Sunday by various microlights, C5 Galaxy (very low!), Mustang, low-ish and heading north west (Janie?) then a mysterious Pa22 (a bit too high to make out the reg) flew over before heading east…Moggy C? (or was it too early!?). The ‘parting shot’ was the BBMF flying over as we headed back to the marina near Ely.

Bad: Loosing my mobile phone with all my numbers in…:(

Re. pic above …

Dear Mr T (The Moustached Mustanger)

If you happen to read this then next time you are on left base for 02 at EGSX please fly lower. I’ve had a word with the neighbours and they are in favour.

Thank you
Janie

Saturday – went shopping in Scarborough and bought a new CD, as well as going on my computer. Had some De Koninck beer at night (De Koninck is a Belgian beer brewed in Antwerp).
Sunday – went shopping in Scarborough for some holiday gear.
Monday – went shopping in Scarborough for more holiday gear, reserved my train seats to London, played on my Playstation 2, went on my computer.

Also on all those days I did the boring mundane usual stuff like take my dog out. It was nice to have a Saturday off, so I made the most of it!!

Same here, I took some annual leave in order to go to the concert, still worked Saturday though. Got 3 more early starts on The Saturday Show and then it’s football, football, football every Saturday and Sunday til May ! 😮

Only bonus is if I do work a bank holiday I get another day’s annual leave added to the account.

Worked every day/night like I do every bank holiday. Gatwick-Zante-Manchester-Gatwick, Gatwick-Keffalonia-Gatwick, Gatwick-Izmir-Gatwick. Would love to say that I get time and a half or double pay but no, working bank holidays and weekends is part of the job.

Sat: Gardening – first time in around 9 years! It’s not so bad when you’ve got the N.Weald circuit over your house.

Sun: Duxford by car.

Mon: Lt. Gransden & Coventry by Rolls Royce Continental. Ah, the views!

Note. Coventry has free landings for aircraft built before 1960. Hoorah!

Yak11 – Let’s see the pics!

Saturday I dropped off my 1 yr old daughter at my mums before heading for Duxford to snap DamienB’s wedding. Locked keys in Metro at Madingley, borrowed a screwdriver, and was back in in 30 seconds…..
Got to Duxford, hooked up with Ashley for a nice hour or so, helped push a hangar door open with Howard and met Charley Brown as they got ready to take the Spit away. Spotted Janie coming in with Chris aboard, so said hi to him and Maurice. Carried on with the wedding, met LesB by chance when leaving, then drove home shattered.

Sunday I went and hauled a couple of pounds of prawns out from the local pier before heading over to Airgages for a lovely mneal and afternoon with him and his family, transferring videotape, then home.

Work today, where I intended to put my feet up – only to find my printer was u/s with a drive shaft snapped (no warning of problems on saturday left for me mind you!) so had to cover myself in toxic ****e for an hour before heath-robinsonising it together. Then dinner at mums.

Not bad at all.

Went to Duxford on Saturday and a show at Seething on Sunday. Met up with a friend on the way to Seething which was interesting and also managed to take a shed load of photos.

Worked Saturday morning, watched some cricket in the afternoon. Had a random drive into the countryside outside Leeds on Sunday, watched more cricket today! Oh…. It wasn’t the test match I was watching by the way… I’ve got a few friends who play down in the minor leagues!
