No-one’s offended so far as I can tell, Sam.
I was just voicing my personal opinion on the subject. 🙂

Sorry if I offended anybody by asking for a link.

I don’t understand why anyone would want to listen in on another person’s last moments in the first place.
Seems a bit ghoulish to me, but that’s just my own opinion.

Can see exactly what you mean on the recording, that apparently is the only place to hear it. Everywhere else on the web it’s been deleted or removed.

Interesting video. I’ve always had doubts over the blame being handed soley to the crew. It’s a complete coverup.

It took me a while to find it, but google video seems to be the only place that you can hear it – type in ‘Eddy Valenciana Story’ into video.google.com. its a 16 minute documentary on the crash – if you dont want to watch it all, just watch from the second minute.
Its one of the most horrible things i have ever listened to – you have been warned.

Do you guys have the link to it please?
Cheers
I do not have a link anymore. Besides, you do not want to listen to it, trust me.

I haven’t listened to another recording since hearing that one.
Me neither.
Though, a CVR recording from a DL1141, a B727 that overran on take off from DFW (I think) in the 70s is a little chilling as when they overrun and begin to break up, the pilots scream, you can hear their voices being broken in a strobing like pattern by the shaking (like when you try to hold a note while someone thumps your back). Though its not as chilling as you know all the crew got out of that one. So its not their final moments, unlike the Western DC-10.
A close second on the most chilling though has to be the Air Florida flight that crashed on takeoff in ’82. The last words from the pilot moments before hitting that bridge and the wretched sound of the impact will be with me forever. Tis making the hair on the back of my neck stick up just thinking about it:
Co-Pilot: Jerry, we’re going down Jerry
Captain: I know it!
Sound of Impact, End of recording.
Terrifying!

The most chilling recording I’ve heard was from the World Airways DC-10 that crashed in Mexico City in the late 70s. You heard the thud of landing, a scream of surprise from the Captain at seeing construction equipment on the runway, a lot of rattling and finaly blood curdling screams of terror as the co-pilot realises they’re headed for the airport terminal at over 80 knots. Then nothing…..chilling!
I haven’t listened to another recording since hearing that one.

CRV recordings and transcripts are both fascinating but can also be disturbing. You can learn a lot about how quick a routine situation can turn sour and how competent (or sadly sometimes incompetent) the flight crew were.

Correction: It was a Western DC-10. Not World.
