I have noticed, that a lot of remarks are made regarding the Daily Mail, on the Forum, Kev in a roundabout sort of way explained why, but WHAT daily newspaper do YOU read, and why?.
Do you read it because you believe what you read is honest and true?. Or some other reasons.
BTW I watch the World, National, and local news on T.V.
I long ago gave up on reading the news from papers.

Jimmy Carr is morally wrong for trying to pay as little tax as possible, well he is simply doing what everyone else tries to do, if there is a problem, close the loophole that allows him to legally do it……
What is morally wrong is MP’s getting a pension when they lose their seat, no waiting till they are 60-65, they get it straight away i believe, that Cameron is Morally wrong!!
Amazed at the arrogance and hypocrisy of Camercon in his comments ref Jimmy Carr, certainly tax evaders have few friends particularly at this time, but consider that Camercon’s personal fortune is largely due to his own father’s off shore banking, accounting, tax evasion.
Good old Tory double standards at work obviously OK for the “right” people to avoid paying tax, but can’t have the plebs getting away with it.
The pension situation for MPs is ridiculous, I remember one MP (can’t remember his name) entered Parliament shortly before the election, then lost at the election and apparently qualified for the severance package and full pension entitlement even if he never becomes an MP again.

Tony, don’t tell me you have only just realised all our M.Ps are morally wrong, they havn’t GOT ANY in the first place.
I recon they should be paid a Pension, at the same age as the rest of us. Is it the DRs who have gone on strike, because they ONLY get a Pension of £68.000 per year when they retire?.I agree somewhat with them, but when I retired I would be quite happy to recieve that amount.
Like I have stated elsewhere, these M.P.s just don’t know what the REAL working man and women have to put up with, thanks to them.

Tony T. I couldn’t agree more. What you have stated is what some of my friends also think, and perhaps thousands more. We, however are the ones to blame for believing what they promise during the pre election run up. Why do we all fall for it?, simply because they are a load of Lawyers, Barristers and are well heeled, with no “Real Life” skills.
What gets up my nose is when they are called “The right honourable” they should add the word “Lier” after those words, funny how they are not allowed to call each other that in Westminister. The best comedy show on T.V. is P.Ms, question time on Wednesdays.
And whoever gets in, always blames the outgoing party for the state they left the Country in upon being ousted.

These days they are all the same, Cameron and his glove puppet both went to the same public schools, and how many labour MP’s are not wealthy and far from those they are supposed to represent, It rankled when they made that tub of lard a Lord…. All they did was destroy this Country..
I would stop expenses and buy a hotel in London to accommodate MPs while in London, a medium quality one…. Or if we do pay their mortgage then they get deselected they should be forced to sell it and the Country should be reimbursed with a percentage of the profits from the sale.
All MPs should not be able to Stand for Election unless they have held a proper job for 5 years minimum.
As for the wages, I would give them 40 grand max and if they don’t like it, they can simply not do the job, that way we would get rid of the sponges we have these days.. And get people that want to do it for the good of others. I would also ban them from holding any directorships or positions in any companies, that is a conflict of interest.
Also have a criminal record and they should be sacked….

I recon when it boils down to “The Lefts and the Rights” there is no difference in either. Have you noticed, that there are a lot of Barristers, and Millionairs on both sides?.
How can they even begin to realise just what they do affects us mere mortals,
I wonder if they were to be paid the average National wage, just how many would give up being an M.P.

Probably very true, certainly choice of politicians usually boils down to which level of hypocrisy you can live with, for me I believe all politicians need a very careful eye, it’s just that I find Tories in the main to be more dishonest and hypocritical than most others.
Sad really to think that the “honourable gentlemen” are probably rated lower for honesty, than a foot in the door double glazing salesman.

I don’t read papers. I usually just go on BBC news website, it’s very biased towards the left, but then I’m only I’m only looking up simple news facts so it doesn’t make much difference to me.
Surprisingly there are many who feel the BBC has an establishment right wing list, on that basis I would reckon they are fairly even handed.
Of course Tories don’t like the truth when it doesn’t agree with their warped, twisted, discriminatory ideology.
You could probably hazard a guess that I am not and never will be a fawning Tory.

We have the Daily Mail, used to get The Times but found it excruciatingly boring. The Mail does have some rubbish in but it also has some good articles, a good mix of serious and more light-hearted stuff, which I think is a good balance instead of all tat like you get in some and the serious, boring Times. Has good sport section if you like sport and some good magazines with the Sunday version.
I just buy the DM on Saturdays, and would go along with that. I find the Sun, the Star and the Mirror far too trivial, although the first two often have a couple of good points, fnaar, fnaar (yes I usually buy Viz too, but going off it) Find the Times, Telegraph and “Gruniad” all a bit heavy-going, and the Express seems like a pale imitation of the DM. If you can make allowances for the DM’s “Little England” mentality and the fact they still seem to be pining for Maggie Thatcher, there is often quite a bit of interesting stuff to read.

John. I popped out to Tescos, and looked at the D.M. and personaly thought it was O.K. I looked at ALL the other newspapers, and they all seemed to carry most of the same stories. T.B.H. I can’t see what all the fuss is about.
I can only assume it’s a paper for the “Common man” 😮

Yes. It has an excellent TV guide. Incidentally, I’m with your comment on the Mail’s medical pages. Easy to read, well presented and tremendously informative. Over the years, I’ve read so much that I’m almost tempted to open a medical clinic offering free lobotomies to the lefties !

Jim,
Thoroughly recommend the Daily Tale why ? Because it hacks off all the lefties.
Hi John, I will probably get this Sats D.M. I have never read it, I would imagine it would have a TV guide for the week, so it may be good twofold.

I don’t read the newspaper. Some of the things they write are just so stupid that I can’t be bothered with wasting money on newspapers and encouraging ‘journalists’ to write rubbish.
By: inkworm - 1st June 2012 at 11:32
Guardian reader for my sins, I don’t agree with everything it says but it doesn’t brown nose the way certain papers do and it actually has a good coverage of news, both national and international without the gossip and rubbish that really doesn’t interest me.
