What film is this?

I have fond memories of when they had this playing in the Motion Dynamic Simulator (to quote the ‘technical’ name!) in Hangar 1 at Duxford. Good fun as a child, quite exciting being thrown around in your seat – also a fine educational aid for those wishing to feel even 1/10th of the dogfight “experience”. It’s a shame they got rid of it.

It’s neither.

It’s a film created for the IWM’s flight simulator back in the early 1990s, featuring the OFMC Spitfire and Buchon, with TFC’s Spitfire IX ML417.

If I remember correctly, the camera platform was a T-33.

Great bit of footage, though.

Again, if I remember rightly, the first time I saw this was on a Spitfire documentary video (possibly part of Channel 4’s Equinox series, but I could be wrong). I probably still have this somewhere!

Not sure it’s based on a film at all, though the guy who put it together (Using the IL2 engine I’d guess) probably lifted the elements for the soundtrack from somewhere

Its from a series that was on Channel 5 a few years back. It was part of the first episode where they showed the differences between Spits and Me-109’s. The original footage had a Me-109 cockpit superimposed on it.
That’s all i can remember!

+! although i think they now have it on a low loader lorry with the simulator unit attached to the back in the main tourist months at Duxford..
