Hi ppl
As the title of this thread states, please share with us:
Which Flight School you went to?
What are your experiance with them?
What was your time span with them(How long it took you for graduation)?
Did you get regular flying
Weather conditions
Instructors
Planes condition
…and anything you would like to add
And if possible tell us where you are working now
I think this thread may help WannaBe’s like me in choosing the right School by getting reviews and experiences from the passouts themselves.
Regards
Rudra

I attended Anglian Flight Training at Norwich in 1986, they went bust later that year after the CFI was killed.
I have just done my Renewal at Conington and am very pleased with the standard of instruction, the atmosphere and facilities, their approach to safety and the pricing.

Sadly not, but I am very pleased that the chap driving it at the time wasnt badly injured. I enjoyed flying that machine, even if it did suffer a tailwheel puncture on my first landing on tarmac.

No, never flown with him, Andrew Castleden started my tailwheel conversion in his Citabria and I finished it in the Stearman with Tony Richards
Nice chap is Andrew, but alas the Citabria is no more.

Been flying the Stearman all summer, logged 25 hours in it now, what a fantastic aeroplane.
Did Gerry Honey convert you onto it?

All I can say is Congratulations on the Stearman. It must be wonderful. I only wish I could be doing your job:o Being a grease monkey on P-51´s and flying a Stearman during the spare time is heaven come true.

You must surely be eyeing up the possibility of gratuating to the Mustang, as soon there will be two of them on your little airfield;) 😀 😀
Anyways, congratulations on the Stearman, I didn´t know you were flying the beast already.

As for the Mustang… its a nice idea, it will certainly give me 2 to attack with spanners…

no interest in taking it much further than the Stearman I currently fly

Flying Schools
Which Flight School you went to?
Blackbushe Aviation (RedAir)
What are your experiance with them?
Very good organisation, fun instructors who know their stuff.
What was your time span with them(How long it took you for graduation)?
Took about a year and a half to get my NPPL back in June 2006.
Did you get regular flying Weather conditions
I suppose 75 per cent of lessons went ahead, the others cancelled due to Wx, tech, etc.
Instructors
I had a regular instructor, then had around 3 different ones for mock tests towards the end.
Planes condition
I flew a PA38 Tomahawk which got broken (prop strike on landing) halfway through training (not by me), so they got another PA38 from Redhill. I now fly PA28 Archers which are a little more comples but more fun, and take more pax !
…and anything you would like to add
Learning to fly was an incredible challenge for me, but gaining my licence was the best day of my life. Its an incredible feeling to get in a plane and fly away.

A very fine choice it still is too dear boy with a few more instructors and a mainly Robin 200 fleet. I learnt to fly there.

PPL, Night and Multi all at Wellesbourne Aviation back in the late 1980s.
Excellent school recently taken over by Cabair.
Occasional aircraft going tech, a total of three instructors through my training, but each consistently for several months, not chopping and changing weekly.
Can’t speak too highly of the place.

As Deano said earlier, you really will have better luck with this kind of question elsewhere.
This particular thread is more appropriate to the General Aviation forum.
Cheers

I’m currently doing my PPL at multiflight, located at the southside of Leeds Bradford Airport.
I’m currently flying the Robin HR200, but have previously flown the Cessna 152.

There aren’t that many wannabes here, I noticed you are putting the same posts on PPRuNe but there isn’t the same number of wannabes here.
As for myself, I did my PPL with Bristol Flying Centre back in 2001/2003.
Then I did my hour building, night rating, CPL, Multi, IR & Flight Instructor’s course with Aeros Flight Training.
ATPL examinations was with Bristol Ground School.
Took me about 9 months to do the ATPL exams.
As for the time with Aeros I started the night rating in the January 2006, and finished the Flight Instructor’s Course in June 07.
Flying was regular, maximum 2 students per instructor, weather was nearly always good (didn’t matter for the IR), instructors were top notch, I gained a first time pass in all my flight tests.
Planes were Piper Warriors & a Piper Arrow for the CPL, plus Piper Senecas for the Multi & IR. They were in tip top shape, we had our own engineering on site so they were always serviceable.
Now an F/O for Europe’s largest regional airline.
Good luck
