What flightdeck?

Morning all,

A recently acquired small snap shot of an unknown aircraft flight deck. Late 1950s era looks to be a military twin..any offers??

As Air ministry and Oracle point out it is indeed a twin Vickers aircraft, the instrumentation panels are identical to Viking/Valletta/Varsity.

As GYD states this type of yoke was experimental, therefore one could safely assume it was a test aircraft of one of the above Vickers types.

Oracal, you may well be on the right track with regards to testing and Boscombe Down.  The co-pilot’s hand control wheel looks the same non standard item that was fitted to the experimental Avro Ashton,  probably used to measure control forces/loads??

The fire extinguisher buttons and centre panel are consistent with a Varsity T 1 panel, looking at other pictures on t’net.

The instruments and switches above the coaming make it other than a Valetta C1 or Varsity T1. Can’t rule out the T3/4 Valetta, but wonder if it could be WJ491 that served with A&AEE Boscombe Down?

I did once fly in ‘491, but as it was 52 years ago I think I can claim memory fade.
