Looks like the engine from a Ju87 Stuka……
Prop on left and radiator/airscoop on right……?

Not really as it’s upside down for a Stuka engine.

The location I presume is the Pounds yard at Pompey?… looking in an old edition of W&R the Anson is listed as VS562, ex Llanbedr.

This Anson, is it the Prototype Anson T.21 that was in flypast awhile back?

Sea Balliol

I new it was a merlin but not the airframe it came from!Heres a (poor)picture of an Anson that was there same time, fuselage also(photo didnt turn out!)and near the merlin where a bunch of flat six Lycoming engines.I think looking at Google earth that this establishment has gone! I wonder if the merlin survived?

It’s a Merlin 35 from a either a Balliol or Sea Balliol definitely.
Haven’t worked which yet.

Yes, the firewall did look big but it was that square grille that clinched it for me. I was pretty sure my Lancaster guess was wrong as the rear profile of the radiator scoop was all wrong.

So is it from a Balliol or a Sea Balliol?

I didn’t realise until I checked some photos that the Sea Balliol had folding wings and was used for carrier landings!

About the only thing I did know about these was that they were the last (RAF) aircraft built with a Merlin engine and that there was one at Cosford.

Agree with CD, Baliol. That big firewall is the pointer.
