Sea Fury FB11 G-FURY is now available to download for FS2002/FS2004 and it’s fantastic. Smoke pods working as well. Find it at www.flightsim.com

Unfortunately though I don’t think we’ll be seeing this one flying under Kermit’s ownership as he’s spending huge amounts on the new museum site and there’s other a/c in the restoration queue before this one, though I personally would love to see her fully restored a la TFC’s in the markings she wore in FAA service and in truth is probably the easier of the late Hawker fighters, he owns, to restore what with so many flying as opposed to the Tempest (a shell with an engine basically) oh well c’est la vie 🙁

Taken from the RNHF newsletter:

  • The engine is now back with the RNHF
  • An anti-knock sensor has been fitted to no. 8 (master) cylinder which they hope will give them sufficient warning of detonation conditions
  • They hope to complete the engine installation and ground tests before Christmas
  • They hope for a test flight early next year.

Fingers tightly crossed.

There was a bit in Xiphias, the RNHF’s newsletter received yesterday, on their Sea Fury’s engine. I haven’t got it with me, but I’ll tag it onto this note if I can get my butler (:D )to dictate it to me!! All good news though.

It is in the final stages of re-assembly and will be back at Yeovilton soon, enabling VR930 to put her face back on 🙂

I’m sure it will be worth the wait, from the look of it the research that has gone into the restoration has been very detailed. Be nice to see it fly.

This is the Bradshaw Sea Fury arriving at RIAT this year. As has been said elsewhere, it is a real shame it doesn’t appear on the circuit but it does seem it’s priced out of many organisers budgets.
