Please could someone help me to find out what became of these old companys . I am interested in finding what became of the WW1 flying boat manufacturers of the Felixstowe flying boats , the Pheonix flying boats and the Porte and Pemberton Billing flying boats . It seems some were absorbed into what became Supermarine and maybe others into what became English Electric ? Also the the 1920’s British Nieuport company , was this absorbed into Glosters ?

Not sure (and at work so no time to check) but I think Phoenix was one of the constituent parts of English Electric when it was founded.

Wasn’t that company recently re-formed? 😉

Nieuport and General, part of the Waring group closed down in 1920 and the design rights were aquired along with design staff, the most important of these being H.P. Folland. (Gloster Aircraft since 1917, D James)
