What if

Let’s say Russia didn’t sell Alaska to the US and managed to hold on to it until the 20th century.
The Cold War is entered with Soviet air bases in Alaska.
Would this affect US and Canadian air and naval forces, procurement/materiel and force size, other than having a larger number of SAM sites and basing the AF squadrons differently?
For simplicity’s sake (and to keep the thread on-topic), let’s keep the land force influence on matters peripheral?

Would there be more of a focus on air superiority fighters (not saying there wasn’t) and would the USAF be larger? What would the RCAF/CFAC look like?
Different focus in military R&D? Greenwater ships added to the Pacific fleet’s bluewater capabilities?
