What is a channel cone?

I saw it mention in the A-36 article in Aeroplane. Can someone enlighten me please?

In the context of the article it would appear to describe a major structural part of the airframe, not a type of nut. Having read it I’m still none the wiser though, the article seems to have lost something in translation (from American to English)

Works for me. Try “channel cone nut” in your search engine.

Probably not right but my association with sailing says it’s a channel marking buoy. where the A-36 fits with that I’m not so sure.
