Mine is the Supermarine Spitfire. By the way I mean Aeroplane.

The Stanley Type 17. It was forged from thicker steel than pre-war models, with no brass attachments. Apparently this was because the brass was in use for armament manufacture, and the plane by non-skilled workers who were a bit rougher in their use of the tool. What a plane.

Overall fav (even though I am Yank): Spitfire, inclined to Mk V or Mk IX with B wing.
By nation (from 1935 to 1945)
UK: see above
USA: A-26C-55
Germany: Me 262 or Me 163, not they are jet/rocket, but have that perfectly balanced symmetry.
USSR: I-153 or Pe-2, tossup
Japan: Not much fan of Japan design, but would lean to the Ki-61
Italy: MC 205
France: LeO 451

Should never store a plane like that! Always on its side. Nice wood however. :highly_amused:

Yes I agree Sabrejet, mine was given to me by a relative who had been a flying instructor in the RFC.

The Stanley one my dad gave me: needs sharpening every so often but it’s still a doozy.
They are still available but my WW2-vintage plane has a wooden handle. I think then new ones are plastic.
