the Pilipinos bought some 12 Golden Eagles for about $35 a pop and will receive theirs in a few days, and it seems they are the launch customer for this
as the Indonesians and Koreans only sought the trainer version.
so what exactly is this version capable of? it has bvr capabilities, but no confirmed radar or missile system I could find.
supposedly their intention with the aircraft is lead in fighter training and light attack against the chinese and muslims

thing is, it’s easy to make a powerpoint to say “look what we’ll do”.. it is another story to do it for good.. as said previously, they obviously want the customers to pay for the integration, so it obviously isn’tt so simple and cheap
For sure.
The Terma pylon is a bolt-on system though so integration should be pretty straightforward.
In other news, KAI wants to integrate LITENING targeting pod in 2018.

At centerline station I guess, would allow the carriage of 2 tanks, 2 bombs and 2 AAMs.

So surely if the Philippines wants Anti Ship missiles or BVR aams, they would fund that integration… and then KAI can sell it on to other customers later. $$
The Philippines doesn’t spend enough on defence to pay for such integration. It buys off the shelf or it doesn’t buy at all.
