Sorry ‘Stephenson Hangar’
I have put my tin hat on for starting a new thread but still think it may deserve it if not I am sure the MODS will move it to the main DX one
So what is kept in there at the moment?

Opening of the gallery is controlled by the IWM so if it’s locked it’s because they haven’t opened it!
Locked yesterday but I didn’t come away empty handed:D

The viewing gallery remains open to see the daily activities in what is now the maintenance hangar for ARC. This means that the view is constantly in a state of flux as the aircraft come and go for different reasons and don’t just sit there static for months. The “old” ARC hangar is now our “projects” facility as well as having HFL at the Northern end. Opening of the gallery is controlled by the IWM so if it’s locked it’s because they haven’t opened it!

Such a tragic accident which should never have happened.

Are the public still allowed to view inside the hanger? Or was this only for the restoration of PA474?

It’ll be great to see pl983. Before its tragic accident it was based at a tiny airstrip only about 1km from where i live.

When shes airworthy she will be the second in the world alomg with Peter Teichmans from Hangar 11! I believe thats the serial of Arco mark eleven! Shes quite well.advanced judging by the Arco instagram story! Wings are on and shes up on trestles! The good thing is too that she will be staying in the UK and operated by ARCo

They are using it as extra space to service the fleet of warbirds they have on their service books! Its helped out and created more space for them the build up the Spitfire MKXI which looks to be gaining pace towards completion!

They’ve moved all those wooden crates from the far side of the Naughty Field, and are filling them with Spitires to send to Burma.
I’ll get me coat…
