Do somebody know if some of the Nippon carriers showed any interest for the A380?
By: Bhoy - 28th September 2003 at 22:22
the question was about the busiest International route, though… I don’t think anyone doubts the Japanese domestic routes are the busiest…
By: monster500 - 28th September 2003 at 14:14
you just have to look at how many 747s are flying that route today, and they are configured to carry over 500ppl
By: monster500 - 28th September 2003 at 13:46
hate to tell you this but over 20million people flew from main island Japan, like Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya to Sapporo last year.
of that 8million alone flew from Haneda to Chitose, making it by far the busiest route in the world.
guinness book of records is not the most reliable source if thats where your info comes from.
this is sunday HND and NRT-SPK schedule also schedules from NGO and KIX ITAMI.

BA179 on any friday night LHR/JFK, whenever I operate it!!!!!!
It’s always full but a good flight to operate as the pax are mostly either to going to NYC shopping/sightseeing for the weekend or Americans working in London going home for a few days so everyone’s in a good mood……or they’re asleep (even better!!!!)

Yes, that’s propably why Ryanair started operating with this route.

The busiest International air route in the world is in fact London-New York, the busiest international route in Europe is London-Paris

i should think that one of the busiest international routes is London-Paris. think about all the airlines that compete on the route (loco’s included) – thats quite a few airlines!

There are a few off the top of my head,
London-Dublin
London-Amsterdam
London-Paris
Not really accurate but probably amongst the busiest in general.
By: T5 - 25th September 2003 at 19:23
Yeah, definitely.
Obviously there are several domestic flights available throughout the world. But the number of passengers on all of these flights are low, mainly due to the size of the aircraft.
By: robc - 25th September 2003 at 19:19
I suppose there must be some european/american routes with more flights but not more pax
By: T5 - 25th September 2003 at 18:24
I agree with Bhoy, it’s a very popular route.
I did once read that there were 23 flights every day between London Heathrow and New York. Then of course you can fly from Gatwick as well…
