What is the F-5 tiger II worth in combat?

I know this is not the best or greatest fighter around but i think it would be a very difficult opponent in close combat.
It was designed as a lightweight cost effective fighter (light bomber). It’s performance is not super but its small, agile and reasonable fast.

I would like to know how it would perform against the f-16, mig-29,mirage 2000,mig-21 in dogfight. I don’t think the most F-5 have BVR capability so how would it perform in the doghfight.

I think most countrues are using it as a light bomber seconary role interceptor but I know The us navy uses the F-5 as agressor.

So what do you think about the doghfight capabilitys of this nice fighter??
