Guys and gals
I think i do one of these threads every year end, so here it goes….
So what aircraft, events, commorations do we expect to see this coming year?
My personal hope is to finally hit a few shows with my new SLR camera which i’m geting in January (any recommendations gladly accepted!!), but i suppose my top 3 would be:
1. TFC P47 to emmerge
2. Sea furies galore
3. And hopefully a visit from the Yagen mosquito
cheers

Well, despite your smiley, that is something we will never know…….;)

I have read thousands of words on this forum about the rights and wrongs of his tenure but I suppose at the end of it, if he delivers a successful season next year the gainsayers’ arguments will be somewhat muted.
Just imagine how successful the entire effort from Day 1 could have been if hadn’t been hired in the first place….The final straw for me was him saying he doesn’t read aviation forums…

I don’t think I’ll be able to get to any airshows this year (again!) but I’m hoping to at least have a day with our little ‘un for his first ever trip to an aviation museum at Middle Wallop.

Having just read the article in Flypast how about B29 Fifi and a Liberator for Legends?? And Fifi flew “fare-paying” passengers – now that really would be something!:D
That would take a change in UK aviation law which will not happen.

One thing no one has mentioned is the move of “the forum” HS748 to its new owners at Speke. Surely something worth looking forward to when the 748 is so poorly represented in preservation.
Apart from that I would just like to see a safe and interesting display season and hope to get out to a few more shows and events this year.

Further to DGH ‘s post – here’s a taster in terms of Classic Flight’s Proctor G-AKIU taxiing at our recent Night Run. It shouldn’t be long before her first post-restoration flight and certification then we can look forward to folks being able to enjoy pleasure flights in this rare machine.

And is there room at Shawbury for a rotting Comet? I suppose you could always throw out the AGT’s exhibits into the cold and wet. Who needs a Horsa anyway?
What I’d look forward to in 2011 is having the opportunity to visit an airshow, any airshow, doesn’t matter what’s there and what isn’t.
But it’s not going to happen anyway.

I would like to see Comet XK699 (RAF Lyneham) moved under cover (and to a place of safety instead of being scrapped) – sooner rather than later (perhaps before the end of the financial year). Because there isn’t the space at Cosford I’d like to see her moved to RAF Shrawbury.
And yes I’d like to see WA591 fly – over former RAF Driffield on a nice summer’s day.

More information please – for those, like me, who do not know about your project.:)

I look forward to having to do potentially expensive engine work with no finances for it and having to scrape together enough to just operate a unique in Europe aeroplane that is only one of five flyers. Anyone want to send the money they have decided not to spend on the Vulcan? Donations welcome.
Sad to hear of the problems Melvyn. However, I can sympathise…..

With apologies for drifting the thread towards the XH558 one.

Not sure on ZRs reasonings, but mine are that he has sucked the finances and life out of the Vulcan project, whilst lending very little in the way of direction to it.

TFC back to full airworthy strength
Pleming falling on his sword..
If the Winter schedule goes well and she has a full flying season next year, not a chance – indeed why should he?
