Pure guesswork on my part….
It doesn’t look like anything I’ve ever seen in a Lancaster but I wonder if it’s got something to do with a flying boat such as the Sunderland, e.g. for hoisting stuff aboard while the ‘boat is at anchor?

I read about a website where you can enter a url and your email address and it will periodically check to see if the url has been updated, and will mail you if yes. Anybody remember that website ? I read about it in this forum last year I think.
