What Is This Aircraft, Up a Pole in Indonesia.

A thread has been running on the WIX site for some while about the true identity of this a/c up a pole in Indonesia(pictured on Airliners.net). It is supposed to be a Anson but I can see only a passing similarity.
It does look real though, rather than a mock up, as some parts look out of place, the props and cowls look very small for one.
Hope someone has an idea as its bugging me.

Hi Peter

I would venture it is an anson – it’s just had some gaps filled with nondescript parts. The Indonesians are good at this 😉

Hi guys,

It’s the photographer here. I put some more photos of that thing here:

I originally thought it was a late model Anson, with a deeper fuselage. Over the past year several knowledgeable people have told me it’s really not an Anson at all, which I’m prepared to believe, but then what is it?

This does not make much sense I think, because the aircraft is portraying an Anson. Why then make it look less like one.

You may be on the right track here – several people are seeing Aztec/Apache parts, even though I’d think the thing is rather bigger than an Aztec/Apache.

This is a ‘bitsa’ using some Anson, but the rear fuselage looks rather as though it may be from an Aztec or Apache. The rudder may be Anson.

It’s a very much modified Anson. The tailplane tips have been chopped, as have the tips on the mainplane (though not so severeley), the windows are squared (rather than the normal oblong shape) and those engine cowls are far too long for their diameter (and are missing the intakes on the undersides).
Has the fuselage been skinned in alum?
Just my twopenn’rth.

Its possibly Anson flavoured, but there are big chunks of something else in there aft of the trailing edge. Take a look at an Anson tailplane. and you will see it goes to a point. Also , there is a large fillet tapering from the trailing edge into the rear fuselage on a proper Anson.

This is a ‘bitsa’ using some Anson, but the rear fuselage looks rather as though it may be from an Aztec or Apache. The rudder may be Anson.
