What is Under the Tarp at Cheraw Municipal?

I’m recently back from a grand old trip to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, and amongst the aviation delights was a trip down to Charleston to see the USS Yorktown and its associated birds, spotting an OV22 flying alongside highway 17 and being buzzed on the beach by an AH-64! 🙂

I did, however, notice a couple of interesting silhouettes under tarpaulin at Cheraw Municipal airport.

Now I’m pretty damn sure that one of these was a Strikemaster/Jet Provost but the other one, I’m not too sure.

Now I’m guessing at either a Folland Gnat or a Dornier Alpha Jet. It certainly had high wings, though in passing it was difficult to take in details.

If you use Google maps to view the site then you can see that there is a small pointy shaped jet on the ramp painted all red, which would point to the Gnat, but I was wondering if anyone knew for sure?

And if anyone had any information about these two ‘planes in general? The interweb is coming up blanks.

Thanks in advance!
Duncan
