Rules are:
1 The type must be extinct
2 The type must not be the subject of a current replica project
3 The type must have actually existed and flown (Dan Dare’s Anastasia, Thunderbird 2 and the Lockheed Aurora are definitely out 😀 )
Photo’s please!
To start, I would like to submit the Fairey Hendon

and the HP Heyford (and before anyone shouts about that, until they dig up Cosford from end to end to prove the existence of buried examples, they are extinct LOL)

Have fun!

Isn’t there one being done, supposedly in the colours of Tom Campbell Black’s aeroplane?

Ooh! I’ve heard various rumors about various interest, but that looks more “real”- might have to contact that chap…
Another personal priority, though in flagrant defiance of the rules (hey, it’s my imaginary money, so I’ll build what I want!):
VL Pyry. When my Finnish wife took me to the museum in Helsinki, I saw the one there and fell in love (again) – it is just so darn cute, and would be great on skis (here in Maine) in the winter…

Was there a Russian heavy?
Arguably the best of the lot– the Pe-8.
By: Spartabus - 13th March 2013 at 11:51
Stalin springs to mind.
I have just snorted with laughter at that
unfortunately I am on a conference call and now there are going to be consequences LOL!

HE177 if it can only be one.
But if that unlimited budget could be put to a coordinated action I’d love to see a line up of the WWII ETO heavies on an airfield somewhere. Stirling, Manchester, Lancaster, Halifax, B17 & 24, the HE177 & JU488, FW200. Was there a Russian heavy?

A proper Mew Gull, with the original canopy.

You want the most restrictive elements of every country’s regs to apply to all fliers world-wide?
No

Oh, an Aussie aircraft fan, eh?
O completely agree on the Kangaroo, but have never seen a pic of the square-tail turbo-supercharged Boomerang!
And now I have… http://1000aircraftphotos.com/Contributions/Braas/9515.htm http://ww2fighters.e-monsite.com/pages/commonwealth-boomerang.html
I’ll jump in here and add my wish – a CA-4 / CA-11 Woomera.

A proper Mew Gull, with the original canopy.
G-AEXF is still flying from Breighton. I know it’s been rebuilt etc blah but in essence and if you squint your eyes a bit it’s the same a/c that Alex Henshaw flew to the Cape.
Personally I’d like to see a Vickers Virginia flogging around the sky. My Dad used to go and watch them at Doncaster when he was a yoof.

Miles M.20
Spiteful (even though others have already said it)
He-100D
And then the following year…

It may not qualify due to the excellent efforts of a dedicated group, but I’m going to say a Whitley. I would even consider a Manchester if we could find some way of keeping the Vultures from seizing up every 35 minutes….

Not quite “extinct”, but certainly not very many of them around:

By: ErrolC - 12th March 2013 at 18:22
Oh – OK – thanks for that.
Shame this sort of thing can’t be harmonised though.

Ooooooh, good call on the Maryland! A stunningly beautiful and very important aircraft in the MTO and totally forgotten in general
On the subject of beautiful twins but on a much smaller scale, how about an RS-1 Snargasher? I know that there is an RS4 Bobsleigh about but I love the pure lines of the original

I hate to be really boring, and I know a static replica is under way, but a Whirlwind would do it for me, especially if I could own and fly it.

Or an Me-163.
Doesn’t qualify! 😉

Spiteful was quite a looker! Or an Me-163
