It has to be the L-1011 Tristar, it put food on my table for 32 years. But I also have a soft spot in my heart for the SR-71, the first airplane I ever worked on.

Like Airline Owner, I’m a great airbus fan, especially the 320 series

I might say the Tomcat, if only because it is the best icon of the USN aviation at its best.

Do I have to say it? My grampa built it, another relative flew it, it was beautiful, it was fast, it worked from Carriers, it worked from land, it fought for control of the air, it attacked things on land and sea, it took photos, it was one of the most beautiful BRUTES ever to take to the air, it had its own TV series, it had an 11 to 1 kill ratio, it served into the 70’s in some places….

And 60 years on there’s still about 100 of them left, and maybe 40 of those flying…and still more to come.
