What jet did your country start off with?

Thinking about this question and decided to ask you lot, did your Airforce enter the jet age on a Meteor or Mig 15, or was it a little later with things such as Hunters and Mig 21’s

Down here in the (According to Arthur) non relevant part of the world, we hit the jet age with the Meteor back in 1950’s, soon after we also bought some Vampire’s, though they were never stationed at home (One squadron was based in Malta and two in Malaysia), only after the disbandment of the Malta squadron did they finally reach home in the early 1960’s.
