If a company literally runs out of money to pay wages and is placed in Administration, then you can apply to get your wages through the Redundancy Payments Office (up to a max of 8 weeks wages pegged at £350/wk).

In my instance, the company where I worked wasn’t in administration… we were closed down by the Solicitor’s Regulatory Authority for a number of reasons; one of them being non-payment of wages (it’s coming up ro 7 months since they did not pay wages). We that were at the company have been waiting for a long time for the partner to be declared bankrupt as although there are plenty of default judgements for non-payment of wages, the practice had no assets and no funds. Hence, the only way we could get out wages would be once we knew that the bankruptcy order was in place and so we could go through the Redundancy Payments Office. I hope to be able to claim around £2000 but I’m owed in excess of £3000 so I’ll likely become an unsecured creditor getting miniscule amounts in the pound for the outstanding £1000 once his assets are sold.

Even I’d go “green” for one of these…….:D

Our son Jack is 4 months old and although I have held and cuddled him hundreds of times today was that little bit better. Usually when I’m holding him he’ll look me in the eyes but only for a second or two before looking at something else for a second or two, his eyes darting around looking at everything. Today I was holding him and he looked at me but kept looking for about 5 seconds, then a huge grin appeared on his face and he kept looking at me giggling for about another 10 seconds. It made me feel so special to be looked at properly by our little man for so long! :D:D:D:D:D

That’s intriguing and just so that I understand your good news. Under certain circumstances the tax payer ( that’s nearly all of us ) pays a percentage of compensation to a bankrupt’s creditors?

What I’m about to write looks very wrong: finally getting to know a bankruptcy number of a person. Now that means that £3k in unpaid wages and holiday pay will be mine in about 3 months through the government… except it’s not going to be that much (can only claim for about £2k). But it’s the best news I’ve had relating to my ex-workplace for months!

Now keep in mind i am in the USA, so for all in Europe this would probably be a re run, but for us it was the first show.

My three year old son following me everywhere this morning wearing his Bob the Builder helmet, “fixing” things by tapping them with an old paintbrush, then painting the garden wall with water.

My little girl (she is 6 1/2) watching out of the living room window to see if the conkers we planted were growing yet (conkers we planted 20 mins before….:rolleyes:) why waste money on a TV when she is happy watching/waiting for seeds to grow ?

As for Ms Price, I’ve posted before that I laughed out loud when I heard somebody on Radio 5 call her a “ballon breasted she chav”… how/why is she famous….. ? does my head in, thing is, the fine for the number plates will be paid by loose change she finds tucked between the lumps of silicone…:mad:

i went to dunkerswell airfield,had a flight in a tigermoth,took the controls and flew around, did a loop and then joined on a microlight for photos,clear blue sky and lots of vis.safe landing-it doesn`t get much better::

The idea of an old car being driven like that just makes me grin from ear to ear. The engineering involved is pretty impressive too.

We had a “frequent” flyer report an issue today claiming (again) extensive hardware failure on the kit they have owned and reported numerous issues on. One of the guys called the end user a “technocondriac”, somebody who says there is always something wrong with their equipment.:diablo::D
