Lincoln7, I’m not into Andre Rieu but he’s one hell of a Violinists for sure. I’m more into Heavy/Death Metal & Rock – Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Cult of Luna, Led Zeppelin and such. (My lass & myself have just got tickets for Motorhead actually)

I’ve heard of Bond but never looked into them much, they’re very pretty though! Oooouf! 😀

Violins aren’t my forte, just Guitars and Basses & Amps etc. From what I know Strads are very, very expensive, the deep end of Hundreds to well over a few Thousand but from what I know they’re rather exclusive. However I believe there are a couple of base models going for a couple of hundred, maybe even cheaper but still, its a Strad, you know. Even the Bows can be expensive.

Electric Violins are quite something regarding sounds, I’ve heard one played before through a little 10 Watt amp and if I remember correctly I think it was called a Stagg? I’ve seen these priced at around £100 and I believe the price does get higher. The ones that Bond play could be a make called Bridge, they retail at around £700+ and I would imagine theres models that are cheaper. Yamaha could be another make Bond play too, but Yamaha being Yamaha, they tend to be very good quality and are usually reasonably priced and of course their instruments are played by a lot of professionals. They’re more than likely to have some in a starter pack too – Violin, amp, spare strings, tutorial booklet & DVD etc.

Thats as far as my knowledge with Violins goes I’m affriad. 🙂

I’ve just bought another Guitar today for my collection, tut-tut. But its really nice. I think it may be my main 7 stringer once I chance the pick-ups. 😀

EEL. I have just watched a DVD Andre Rieu, who I am well in to, (Metaphoricaly speaking:D ) and the girl quartet, BOND played, it was sheer majical the way they made their violins speak, What a difference to a Strad their instruments are, any idea as to who makes them and at what cost.
BTW mine is the one with the long blond hair:diablo:

Lol! Good one, I’ll have to remember that one! Yes I’m more than very happy to say she is. We have a wicked sense of humour and thats just a little bit from her side, evil but sweet with it. But oh thats nothing! 😀

Guitars are more Organic than woman I reckon, Guitars answer back without any insults. *I’ll have to tell her that one!*

I just did, and I can’t say on here what her reply was lol.

Very true, Lincoln7. I laughed when I bought one but cried like a little sissy, school girl when I dropped it down a flight of metal outside stairs, top to bottom. Girlfriend laughed her cute little ar$e off though but with a hint of dissapointment that I didn’t follow it down. Biaaatch!

Hi. No it was a genuine question addressed to your good self, asking if you could have a bespoke guitar made, by the Company whoes products you have several of.

Hi. Sorry, I thought I missed something you said. 🙂 But yeah, anyone could but as I say you’d have to pay a significant amount. Even the most simple things you’d have to pay a silly amount. Sometimes its just better to buy a Gibson out of the store and simply spend a few extra quid, not much, and get a few things you want changed, and they happen to be the most subtle changes that make a big difference regarding looks and style, and this is my beef with Gibson, their range of options can be rather poor especially how much they charge – which a lot of the time is a ridiculous amount. We had one in store costing as much as it makes no difference, £11,000. Very special Guitar…But not that special, not as special as the guy that bought it, and he wasn’t that good at playing the thing. Flippin Cookoo!

Saying that I’ve been guilty once……………..Or twice. *Holds head in shame* But it was/is very special.

The ones I currently have were pricey but worth it. I could easily justify the costs but theres a limit one would spend especially when you scratch away at the surface on some of them to see whats underneath.

Damn and blast I couldn’t half swear, I think I should write a letter to Gibson. Grrrr I could use harsh language! Bl00dy! Yes, you heard me right the first time – BL00DY!!! 😀

But hey, if you want some advice on a Guitar just let me know. I feel bad selling them at silly prices and basically…Doing so with a forced grin! lol

Could do…But I’d have to pay through the nose for it, and after already paying a very high price for the Gibsons I already have, thats already more than enough. I’m more miffed at their way of marketing than of the Guitars themselves. Theres been occassions where I’ve enquired directly, for customers, for some things in particular about a partcular Gibson and to find out I’ve been fed the wrong information. On the former front I just wish they had just a wee bit more options for the more subtle things.
