What made you (want to) Swear Today?

As a kind of companion thread to “What Made You Smile Today?” what made you angry or just annoyed today? Get it off your chest here, folks. I’ll kick off with this. These two animals beat a completely innocent man to a pulp, and when he asked them why they were attacking him replied “You ain’t done nothing. We’re just having you” And today, news that their already paltry sentences have been REDUCED. Christ, I despair of this country sometimes, I really do.

And why not indeed? He seems to think he’s God so a volcanic eruption being what the insurance companies class as an act of God he can take the blame.

See? I knew it was only a matter of time.

Doombar is a gorgous pint. Serve it at my pub 🙂 Its a pain in the backside to pour if its not been left to settle properly though!

And it seems to take ages to pour! Though that might just be, as the barman said, because the place needs a re-fit and re-plumbing! Can’t argue though, it’s a nice drop 🙂

Scott, yes they were is the short answer mate. The now ex keeps wanting to meet to try and sort stuff, not sure she’s grasped the concept that it’s just a teeny bit too late to be putting the effort in now and I’m not going to be messed around any more…

BSG hope the Gods smile on you, can’t really say much more than that. Fingers crossed…

Simple rule of thumb for you 319- assume everyone else on the road is a dumbass and act accordingly. That way they can only pleasantly surprise you… 🙂

Exactly what our instructor on my HGV class 1 course said but he was a bit more blunt about it. In his words treat everyone else on the road like they’re idiots and 90% of the time you’ll be right and the other 10% is good insurance.:D

I’ve not heard of anyone blaming Lady T for a volcanic eruption, but I have actually heard someone blame Gordon Brown for the recent eruption in Iceland.

And they weren’t joking, either.

And why not indeed? He seems to think he’s God so a volcanic eruption being what the insurance companies class as an act of God he can take the blame.

Even though redundancy protection laws here are sh1te compared to some other countries there are still certain legal obligations to be met, and when we went through this recently anyone even remotely likely for the chop got a formal “At Risk” letter. I got one and survived, and even with 20% to go the odds must be on your side too. I know exactly what you’re going through mate, so fingers crossed for Monday.

Thank you – we had big cuts last year that were a mess, a mate of mine was married to an employment lawyer who gave me some great tips last year as it was so badly done. This year it is so large scale that we could all be “at risk”, then we have 90 days of waiting…. my pay off will be 12 months salary, 3 months notice… my mortgage is insured (70% of it) for 12 months so I have a large safety net. That said, if the Mrs pushed on the split thing (and I’ve said that a new mortage while unemployed OR at risk is not going to happen and I will not waste my redundancy on rent – which I would be asked to pay 6 months in advance!) then I still have some “issues”….. maybe Cornwall and Doombar with Ben and Baz is the answer !!!!

Would love to mate! Whereabouts in cornwall are you?

Unfortunately, im relying on him to house me until i can save enough towards my new house (my new job means I have to go and live with him)

Even when my parents were together, he used to take his hollidays from work at different times to my mum, my sister and I

So bloody aggravating, I just dont want him to ruin time with WR963 but he’s managing it. making me doubt that people appreciate the effort I put in 🙁

He might not but I’m sure I speak for the rest of us here when I say that we most definitely appreciate what you are trying to achieve and wish you the best of luck.
