I say please no retro fitting, It would be lovely to see the 2 seater Buchon out and about one day though, In Spanish colours not a pseudo Battle of Britain scheme.
Anyone fancy making a replica two seater Bf 109?

As I said, no two-seat Bf109 exists…. 😉

Mind you, I’m not sure there’s be much work, other than retro-fitting the DB605, in recreating the two-seat Bf109G-12….

Messerschmitt Bf-109G-6 – Werke Nummer 411768 has been restored to display status at the Zadorozhny Technical Museum, Moscow.

I photographed it there in September…..

Someone should point out that they’ll never get it through that gap without removing the wings. That’ll teach them not to build a 34 ft span airraft in a 24 ft garage:D

The rumour was something i read somewhere, that Edwards, besides the BoB film aircraft, might have had an actual dual Me-109.

I have only read about it once, so my guess is, thats its untrue.

Somewhere in the recesses of my mind, I know I’ve seen a photo of the dual-control Buchon at the Edwards’ place. I’m pretty sure it is in fact a Buchon.

There’ll be plenty of opportunity for different colour schemes after the almost inevitable landing accidents!!

It looks a bit like the prop blades used on the Junkers-engined version that flew with the ?Yugoslav (or was it Hungarian?) airforce after the war, some of which found their way into Israeli service. Probably off the mark – but if they were going to fabricate a ‘109 prop, why not fabricate closer to the original pattern?

Avia S.199 “Mezek”, built by the Czechs and, yes, latterly flown by the Israelis. I think there are still a handful of these beasts still around.

As for the ex-Connie Edwards two-seater, it would be a wonderful sight in the air, especially in its Battle of Britain film colours….

According to a German forum, the two-seater had recently been sold by Connie Edwards to an undisclosed European buyer and will be shipped soonest.

When more details will be released, I won’t fail to revert.

Don’t think any Aircobra ever flew with that kind of prop, a pic of this
aircraft in flypast iirc last years showed it with a P39 prop but this looks
to be a mock up German prop

The prop “looks” correct, but the blades look to be turning in the wrong direction…
