All 5th generation fighters advertise themselves as systems that can operate within a network of systems. Take advantage of information, distribute data and cooperate with other weapons to achieve maximum efficiency.
That’s nice, indeed!
However, not all countries operate or are willing to operate such networks therefore it is useless for them to spend money for avionics that practicaly will only decorate their airplanes.
Therefore there is a true need to compare 5th gen aircrafts as single units that operate without any help from anything. Not only in terms of performance but also in terms of cost provided that they will be equipped with the necessary equipment and nothing more.
The questions are the following:
1) Is any figther promoted with such capabilities or are the companies willing to evolve such a variant for their planes?
2) If smth like that happens which plane would be the best in terms of performance and cost?
Having already seen all the brochures and videos that accompany planes like Typhoon, Rafale, Grippen, F16Blk60 I haven’t seen such a provision.
