What path of upgrade for Indias MiG-29?

It has been rumored that India is thinking about the upgrade of their MiG-29 fleet. Now what kind of upgrade should they choose? there are currently 2 extensive upgrades that comes to mind.. the Sniper and SMT.

The Sniper upgrade, offered by Romania and Israel would make good use of India’s relations with Israel. The Upgrade will allow the Indian Migs to use some Israel developed weapon systems as well as (i’m assuming, a more advance cockpit lay out with two large MFDS and better processors), making it more cockpit friendly.

However MiG has often looked down on outside sources upgrading their products. The SMT gives the MiG-29 a wider range of Russian munitions to use (more tahn the Sniper), it gives it a new radar. It would also be cheaper.
