Aircraft: I would love to have seen one of those single-engined flypasts by an Avro Lincoln.
Pilot: Alex Henshaw (or to be honest, probably just about any test pilot of that generation!)

I would think that would have been Pete Shepard in the RNHF FB11 🙂

I remember as a kid being taken to Seething airshow. We stopped in the queue of traffic waiting to get in at the best possible place, directly in line with the runway, and just at the right time Sea Fury TF956 came in to land. Gear and flaps down, and low level right over the top of our car. Life just doesn’t get much better than that.

Not sure the name of the pilot or who owned the aircraft but one display that sticks in my mind as a kid. Sea Fury (invasion stripes) at Biggin Hill in the 80’s doing a perfect (and I mean perfect) 8 point hesitation roll at low level.

Would have to say! Paul Bonhamme? Saw him display No Guts No Glory at Duxford ages ago just awesome! A repeat with Snafu would be stunning!
But have to agree the Hanna’s warbird legends I miss them so much “The Master’s”

The other aircraft and crew sadly missed the ill fated Mossie.
Their display at Biggin Hill the year the aircraft was lost was one of the most impressive and powerful displays I’ve ever seen.

Of course, not forgetting the Suez painted Corsair and Lyndsay Walton (sorry bout the spelling).

Gary flying Eddie Coventy’s Yak 11

Good choice Chris! Remember Gary’s display in the Yak at Earls Colne in 92 for the 323rd Veterans? Great display. I think that his slipstream ruffled my toupee somewhat!! 😀

Steve

Easy for me….

Stefan Karwowski + Bearcat.

Saw Stefan’s display at GWAD in 1983. Blew me away.

My choice as well, and yes that GWAD routine in ’83 sticks in my memory as well……….even though it is almost 30 years ago 😮

His displays in a Hunter were equally impressive 😎

Much missed…for those who never had the chance, here’s Neil Williams coming round the bend at Old Warden to begin his peerless display in AR501.
Also remember his Tiger Moth displays, with falling leaf…beautiful.

Hi Moggy. Try straight and level ( with a bit of alt) and then push and then push ‘arder and give it heaps and hope you make it round to straight and level again. Mighty hard on the eyeballs but good fun. If you don’t push hard enough and run out of steam on the way up just turn it into a stall turn. Easy Peasy. (Sarky B aren’t I)
