What really matters in life?.

Well, the cats out of the bag now, as most will have read Annes Post, about me.
Just sit down, and give this, some thought.

What really matters in your life?, big things, or small things eg, winning the Lottery, or something simple like getting up in the morning, with a clear blue sky, and looking at all the flowers, and birds in your garden, going on holiday.Good friends?.

Appreciate the moments. You can’t go back, but you can appreciate what you have right now, and define yourself by what you are, instead of what you’re not. You’re alive. Everything else is negotiable.

Yes I’ll second all of those – at my age not much else does matter.;) And when Linc does return here I’ll bet his sense of what really matters will have been coloured by his last few weeks.

I’ll go with what Sideslip and Stangman said and Jim’s remark about waking up in the morning and add seeing your children and grandchildren growing up. Life doesn’t get much better than that.

There was a very interesting program on TV yesterday. The stories of soul survivors of air disasters were interviewed and their stories told.
One woman found herself falling through the air after the airliner she was in broke up. She fell 2km and survived.
Another lady was in an airliner that crashed. Herself and the man opposite survived, although he only survived briefly. There she was trapped with broken hips
while everyone else in the cabin was dead.
I wish I had the opportunity to ask those people what really matters to them in their lives now.
To know you should be dead but somehow bucked the trend.

What matters? Getting to do my own thing and not having anyone **** me off. That’s the best day there is.

A sense of humour . With that you can cope with anything. Mind you health and wealth run a close second.

The important things are health, happiness, and I think a realisation of how very lucky we are to have even been born at all, and the desire to make the most of what we have while we have it.

My Mum in Law passed away 2 days ago 🙁 may she rest in peace ,death makes you appreciate what is really important in life.

You can’t buy the best things in life, that comes from who you are and the things that people around you mean to you.

Friends, someone to love, good health.
The rest doesn’t matter.

I speak from experience.

My girlfriend of four and a half years walked out on me two days ago, a month ago we were fine.

My family and friends have been, and continue to be, amazing.

Being happy. Having someone to talk to. Feeling safe and secure. Taking the time to stop, look and experience things.
Not craving the desire to constantly buy things.
Model making. Realizing that life is short and we need to grasp every moment.
Having time to reflect.

From The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy….

LINTILLA: Is there anything you are prepared to talk about?

ARTHUR: Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

LINTILLA: What?

ARTHUR: I know – all non-starters really.

The freedom of flight, and those actions that made other peoples’ lives better, even in a small way.
