I am off to Seattle on Saturday, and don’t want to miss any aviation goodieas. I know about the Museum of Flight of course (and the restoration centre), but is there anything else (e.g. seaplanes?), and any tips regarding the museum please?
Thanks

Once again, thanks for all the leads. the sun shone, the museum was outstanding, as was Paul Allen’s collection, and Kenmore Air harbour, etc.

Found on the West side of Renton in 2006, should still be there!

Without wishing to highjack this thread , does anyone know anything about a retired Seattle aircraft engineer building or restoring an aircraft in a second storey of his home ? About 15 or 20 years ago I heard a story about this and how after his death the side of the house had to be taken off to remove the airframe ?

I would also agree J Boyle… The Boeing assembly plant at Everett is a must see… There is no other place in the world like it!

Don’t forget the 747/777 factory at Everett, and the new aviation center there (same thing, IIRC, I haven’t been to the new facility yet) and the Paul Allen collection, also at Everett. Not that far from Boeing field….maybe 30-45 minutes by car on a weekend.
There are other, smaller museums/collection in the greater Seattle area as well if you have a couple of days.

I would def go to see or sea even with Kenmore Air http://www.kenmoreair.com/sub_content.php?content_type=28 and also take a ferry across to Bremerton to see any carriers..not going to be aircraft on them tho.
Did the museum and two of Boeings fields back in 2004 so probably a lot changed since then.
