Flybe flight from Exeter to Palma de Mallorca, July 5th. Anyone know what type I will be on?

95! Thats fantastic, FlyBe did say that when they started both Southampton and Exeter, they fully expected both routes to go twice daily, they surely will with loads like that, all the LBA-Southwest routes seem to have done brilliantly, the Air Southwest flights to BRS and NQY very rarely seem to be anything less than full, lets hope it continues :).

LBARULES:
Just for your info today (23/06) EXT-LBA had a load of 95, if it keeps up like this we may see it go twice daily!

I was hoping for a 146 as I have only flown on one once (long time ago) and have flown on too many 737’s! Thanks guys.

Great stuff Vince, good loads, have heard that the loads on the Southampton route have been mega as well.
The 146 is the type assigned to the service, was initially meant to be a Q400, but will always be a 146 now.

LBARULES:
The load was pretty good. 67 booked, 65 onboard, so 2 no shows.
My work takes me to Exeter but I now live in Leeds so I have been counting the days for this service to start! I’ve currently got another 5 trips booked already.
I was very suprised to be on a 146 though, do you know if this is normal or was there a problem with a Q400?

Great to see a user of this new route, what was the load like?
GZYL – Do you know the flight number?

Just stepped off a FlyBe 146 this afternoon (EXT-LBA), The leg room is great but the seat width is a little tight but if you get in the last 2 rows there are seats missing so there is a huge gap between the wall and the seats. I was sat sideways with legs in this gap looking out of the windows, a very nice way to fly!

G-MANS joined the fleet on lease – at the time the airline still served meals 😮
I got the pleasure of flying G-MANS from EMA with BMA in 1996 i think, when i went to AMS, even got a deck visit on the way back too, i was only what 9 at the time? 🙂

Cant say I’ve had a problem with the FlyBe 146s, they are infinitly more roomy than Ryanair 738s and any aircraft in the Easyjet fleet, particularly on the 319 which serves my most frequented route.
The trick is to get a seat as far back as possible, as they usually fill up from the front, so if the flight is not 100% full, there is a greater chance you are not sitting directly next to someone. I spent a good 2 and a half hours like that once due to a delay, and it was perfectly comfortable (and im 6’3).

I have read that the FlyBe 3-3 configuration is cramped, suppose all charter aircraft are anyway!
They are dreadful 3+3, and FlyBe’s 146s are right old clunkers too.
Just as an illustration, when I worked at Donington Hall there was a significant problem when G-MANS joined the fleet on lease – at the time the airline still served meals 😮 and the standard meal trays wouldn’t fit six across on the seat back tables without the trays sticking out into the aisle! 🙁

Suppose it wouldnt be that bad, (My opinion is very uninformed, ive never flown on a 146!), just I have read that the FlyBe 3-3 configuration is cramped
It is indeed, i flew LGW-GCI-LGW last year if you may remember, and i’m 5 foot 10, and i was in a bit of bother afterwards (tho i do have a history. another story ;))

In luck then! Not sure i’d fancy a 146 all the way to PMI…
BA are taking RJ100 to Rome from MAN :diablo: Thats 3 hrs in a Jumbolino.
Also they are taking the RJ100 to places like figari and Cagliari for the summer on weekends
