What was revealed during the war – if anything…?

Okay, so we now know that (a) the Blackburn Botha wasn’t up to scratch, that (b) the Avro Manchester was fitted with a dodgy engine and that (c) the Stirling had a restrictive bomb bay, but were any of these facts disclosed during the war? What was revealed during the war – if anything – about aircraft that failed to meet expectations…?

Careless Talk Costs Lives

Revealed to who?
Aircrew who flew the types and airmen who looked after them would soon be made aware of the deficiencies of the types you mention but I very much doubt that anyone else would be encouraged to know about such things, certainly not the enemy. A country at total war would need to keep these things quiet, the media then, as now, is potentially a weapon of war.
