What would be the ultimate find??

What would be your ultimate find? COuld be an aircraft to recover could be a part at a sale or trade show? Me? It would have to be either a Lanc throttle box or a control wheel:)

Any G1 is better than no G1 😉

A fully restored T-33 (in working order), a licence to operate it from the Netherlands with paying passengers atached to the front-seat console. Some spares would be nice too. 😀

On second thought: A pre-WW2 Fokker would be kind of neat. Imagine a G-I or T.8W in flying condition!

For me, it would be a dream to find a (partial) Stampe SV5 trainer. Not even 1 example from this succesfull pre-war trainer has survived. It would fill an important gap in any Belgian (flying) museum.

Try this site – they have a lot of material and charge sensible prices.

http://www.gbairspares.co.uk/

Now that is pricey 😮 Also just noticed lower down the Lancaster Air Dryer at £350!!!!!! I remember literally hundreds of these all brand new and unused stacked up in a warehouse locally (now demolished 🙁 ) I was allowed to take one as a sample but nobody I showed it to took the slightest bit of interest in it, so never bothered acquiring any more.

For me personally: an original Halifax pilot’s seat (but a repro is on the way)
For the community: a substantial Stirling wreck in similar condition as W1048 or NA337 and the same drive to restore it as they did on NA337.

Or something like below (it’s the Aaron VC Stirling, couldn’t find any credits)

I’d love to find an F-14 at Duxford, but in theory that is still possible, so I’d go along with the Whirwind, or MB-5, a Stirling, Hampden, Hornet, or a Tempest VI……. in flight of course.

… short of a complete DH Hornet turning up in a barn

A prize find would be a Hornet windscreen casting, canopy, and nose cone!

Dear Santa…. Please could I have… 😀

A mansion in the hills, garage filled with exotic cars, even more exotic female in the mansion, some a/c in a nearby hangar, oh, and world peace… Haven’t found neither yet, but I’m still searching!

And Peter, here’s your Lanc wheel mate, if you can afford it!

Lanc control wheel

An economizer cover for a FN121 turret and a seat for a Bristol centre turret.

The best find for me, would be the return of my Fathers Rolls Royce Merlin tool kit. This was taken by some THIEVING SCUM-BAG a couple of years ago. The sad thing is, I was using them to Merlins running, I should think the THIEVING SCUM-BAG, is one of those nice collector type people who have no idea of the personal value those tools have to me. It’s not the money, it’s the fact they belonged to my Dad.

Still I can only hope.

Propstrike – Sadly I think after all this time ‘decomposing’ might be more appropriate!
