What would you buy?

I was amazed to hear about all the muddy clothes worn at Glastonbury getting put onto Ebay and thought Id have a look at what else I could spend my hard earned cash on

Ive recently purchased a few things on Ebay, most noticably a Canon EOS30 camera with all extras for £150. Now Im trying to find a half decent digital camera ready for Fairford next week

Would you buy this?

Would have to be a Bell 47 helicopter. Fantastic machine for so many uses.

There is a Miles Gemini advertised for sale at the moment, I have always had a hankering for one of those!

There seems to be a bit of interesting stuff around within the ‘price range’ a couple of Stearmans, a Tiger Moth, some Yaks…I only have 14 years of paying private education left:(

Stemme S10-VT would be a nice toy.
EUR350k, sadly.

Have you seen the ‘Big boy’s toys’ advert? they are selling off some ex-Yugoslav Air Force Sokos, jet trainers for £75-90k a STOL Utility aircraft for £34k and a Kraguj Ground Attack aircraft ( 6 available!) complete with Wing mounted Machine Guns, deflector sight, hard points and rocket rails! All for a mere £30k+Vat That would be a machine you could exact revenge with!

You got a link for that? I was going to do a search for Big Boys Toys but then thought better of it as I’m at work! 😮

They don’t appear to have a website, they are FCS Flight Consultancy Services based at Biggin Hill, and seem to deal in sports cars, etc as well.
They advertise in the Comic that competes with Today’s Pilot (same title without the word Today’s) 😀

Could some one kindly i/d the KZ model in the same advert.

For me If I cant have an Otter or Beaver may I please have a Cessna 195. I require something to get my mates in but it must have a big round engine.

This is one way to do it

Bit outside our budget though.
Or a bit nearer home, but still beyond our budget

80,000 pounds = $160,000 US…so

A Bell 47G or G-2: $110,000 and
Boeing Stearman or Cessna Bird Dog …. I might get one for $70,000
if not…
A restored late 50’s “fastback” (no back window) straight tail
Cessna 182 in its original natural metal and paint color scheme.

Nah, half of your list is out on gas-guzzling grounds 😀

Did you see the review this month of the Spit Rep in another magazine? The Jab 8-cyl has been pulled whilst the flight tested model had what sounds to be a beast of a Franklin. The F-word also slipped past the gnome. 🙂

Hmmm… tough question… I’d consider the DHC-2 Beaver, Yak-52/50/18T, Grob 115 (not historic but flies great and looks nice), Jungmann/Jungmeister, Spitfire replica 😉 and the piper cub (because it’s a classic, flies good and looks good).

Oh well, much to choose from:D

I’d buy a chip..chip…chippie all to myself instead of just owning a share. Yes, they do exude oil (unless you’ve run out) especially if you are thoughtless enough to turn them inside out. But…oh the joy! or a Cub…preferably a lightweight L4 with a C90 or O200 (much nicer than a Supercub)…but you’d get so much change out of £80K you’d probably go and buy a Kracuj for a laugh. I hear rumours they handle like the brick shed at the bottom of my Gran’s garden. Or…a Yak 50…Stampe….Jungmann.

Maybe a Yak 11 for something aerobatic with a bit more grunt than a Chipmunk. Or perhaps I’d go for the An-2 just because they are so weird. Unequal span and chord on upper and lower wings, a cockpit that looks more like the bridge of a ship than part of an aircraft and a fuselage that should that should either be slimmer for its length or longer for its cross section. That’s plenty weird enough for me. 😀

With that sort of cash I’d have a Bulldog (with the extra seat) and let the rest pay the upkeep.

I’d probably have to buy something else to fly when it’s in for maintenance so I should have a few pennies left for a BA4B

Its up for sale at the moment!! 🙂

Martin

The real one that is – the Beagle E.3, not that funny looking Summerton-Rayner conversion.

It’d have to be the real one…
Now just those numbers to come up and a licence to get…
