Whats going on at MAN

All these subcharters !!!!! MapJet MD83 operating from Thomsonfly for the past week, Air Italy using a 763 and Loftair using a 757 for Monarch, Excel borrowing numerous aircraft including an L1011 last week.
Do these airlines have some poorly planes.

The airlines would not be subchartering other airlines aircraft if they didn’t have to. They would much sooner operate their own aircraft to maintain commanality, and to save on costs.

I can only assume that aircraft have had technical problems, and they have had to bring in cover. Unless they are operating extra flights like Luke says because of the end of the season, I don’t know.

Tommyinyork – You seem to ask this question everytime charter airlines have to bring in a few subcharters… Had a quick look and found two threads started by yourself about subcharters! Its just standard practice when necessary for airlines, and can be for a variety of reasons.
